.All the font work was done by hand, using a pencil, before being gone over with ink. Then the easy part - the painting. There really are cart ruts at the plaque, left behind by those families that travelled to find their future. Maybe I love this piece so much, or the idea of this piece, because, like them, I drove my more modern version of a wagon (my Matrix) to Saskatoon from Nova Scotia and passed by a few hundred feet from where these people before me travelled.
I wonder if the Trans Canada parallels the wagon trails. Does anyone know?
