We traveled this section of the highway, just past the apply named 'Enchanted Forest', early in the morning as the low-laying clouds slowly lifted from the ground. I spent a few hours at this stop watching the shifting clouds drift and dance through the trees in the pale wash of morning light. It was mesmerizing. And I couldn't help but think of the summer fires. The clouds could easily have been the drifting smoke from the numerous fires burning during the summer of 2017.
This stop was a picnic area sandwiched between a cliff and a small lake with the trees raising sharpy on the other side of the water. I combined two views into one image taking the hills from my right and the lake from my left. This is my solution for how to deal with a panoramic view without using a long, skinny canvas! - Carol
We're on TV! Well, not us, but the Project was featured on Radio-Canada ICI's 100% Local show this week. Check it out!! (PS - In French only.)
As I see the end of the project nearing, I'm extra motivated to get things done. This week I finished Km 6750 and PEI, both of which have been occupying my attention for a few weeks. It seems funny that these are from opposite ends of the country, yet I've been working on them simultaneously. Or, rather, alternately. As I got frustrated with one, I switched over to the other. And vice versa. Now that they're in the finished paintings category, I see that I only have four to go. My goal is to get them all done by the end of March.
