The statue of this cow outside the Cows Creamery Retail Store made me smile - who doesn't like a cow!! Throughout the years, I have painted many, loving their gentle gazes and big strong forms. Finding this terrific sculpture at our stop in PEI seemed meant to be for me. There were certainly many angles from which I could have painted the statue, but this particular one tickled my funny bone. Having lived in the Maritimes for decades, this company with its playful graphics and delicious ice-cream are well known to me. I have always wanted to wear one of their fun nightshirts, now, I think I will! Alison
The causeway that crosses Poplar Island and the estuary from Beach Grove to North River offers a great view of the tidal zone. Here I'm looking south towards Rocky Point and the St. Lawrence beyond. It seems fitting to me that the only stop on PEI is right on the water - a tribute to the province's maritime heritage. Carol
